Just a quick note before going to bed.
I went down and picked up the credit card, then went straight to a bank and got 1,000,000 rupiah. Impressive, huh? I mentioned that to one of the power shoppers, and she said she typically has been getting 2,000,000 each time.
Today's exchange rate is 8020 rupiah to the dollar, so my million is worth $125. Oh, well. <g>
The economic crisis ended Suharto's 32-year rule three weeks after this message.
Armed with all my cash and new plastic, tomorrow morning I plan to be off to pick up your fabric. The 15 minute taxi ride will cost about $1.30 including a generous tip. Amazing!
I've been meaning to get another family message off, but my naps keep getting in the way. I'll try again tomorrow. On the 2nd I'll probably do another Jeddah trip.
